Owen W. Watford, Retlif Business Development Manager, was invited to Long Island Forum for Technology (LIFT) to address the career candidates. In his presentation, “How Did I Get Here?” Watford spoke about his education and work experiences and gave the candidates life lessons that have served him well: “Stay focused; character and integrity open doors; and never give up, never give up, never give up!”

owen-watfordimg_1143LIFT and the Composite Prototyping Center (CPC) announced plans to train 100 Nassau County young people with the skills required by composite manufacturers and to assist them in finding employment opportunities. The Center for Science Teaching and Learning (CSTL) received a $440,000 grant from the Toyota USA Foundation for this initiative, and it was through this grant that Watford was able to share his story.

“This was an inspirational presentation to motivate our young people to strive and work hard at their dreams and aspirations for the careers they are seeking in life,” Watford said.
