Walter A. Poggi, President of Retlif Testing Laboratories, has been elected President of the Long Island Council of the Navy League of the United States. A life member of the Navy League and current Chairman of the Council’s Corporate Committee, Poggi assumes leadership of the Council as it continues its longstanding mission of supporting local U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine units.
Founded in 1948, the Long Island Council has played a vital role in strengthening ties between the maritime services and the Long Island community.
“I am honored to serve as President of the Long Island Council, which has a rich history dating back more than 75 years,” said Poggi. “I look forward to leading the Council in its efforts to support our local Coast Guard, Navy and Marine units, while also strengthening the connection between our defense industry and workforce development here on Long Island.”
