EXPANSION PLANS CONTINUE

Several expansion plans are in place to expand all three RETLIF test facilities. Building Department approval and site work has been completed at the NH facility in preparation for the addition of a 1200 sq. ft. “support building”. The additional space will be used for additional test sample storage and for a new control test room for the facility’s OATS site.

For the NY facilities, site plans have been completed for both the 785 and 795 Marconi Avenue facilities. Ultimately 7,000 sq. ft. of additional space will be added through the expansion of both buildings. It is anticipated that work will begin on the 785 location in late spring.

RETLIF PARTICIPATES IN “FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION”

The “FIRST Robotics Competition” is a national engineering contest, which immerses high school students in the exciting world of engineering. This year, RETLIF along with Citibank, Computer Associates, Peradata Technology, Symbol Technologies, Telebyte Technology and other companies teamed up to support the Sachem School District’s Robotics team. RETLIF was represented by its General Manager, Mr. Bill Hayes. In six short weeks students and the industry sponsors worked together to design, construct, and test their competing robot. Students learned what it is like to work in the real world, where through team work, goals and deadlines are met. The Sachem Team (called “Aftershock”) will compete in the Long Island Regional Contest against 22 other Metro NY teams on March 23rd-25th at Suffolk County Community College, and then on to the National Championship April 6th-8th held at EPCOT is Orlando Florida. Good luck to the Sachem School District and all the other competing teams!
