  • Retlif acquires Radiation Sciences, Inc. (RSI) of Harleysville, Pennsylvania, adding 15,000 square foot testing facility. Acquisition enables Retlif to offer in-house TEMPEST testing and expanded CE testing and homeland security.
  • Upgrading of laboratory facilities and addition of new technical staff, Ronkonkoma, NY facility.

2005
  • Addition of a 64 cubic foot sand and dust chamber
  • Addition of a EMC Partner Lightning Simulation System capable of all DO-160 test requirements including Level 5.

2004
  • Retlif's President, Walter A. Poggi, receives the ACIL Fellow Award for outstanding service to the independent testing community

  • Extensive environmental simulation testing services are added, due to customer requests, including temperature, humidity, vibration shock and acoustic noise services.

  • Military EMC testing offered at Retlif New Hampshire.

  • Canadian DOC approves Retlif to provide test data for Canadian product compliance.
  • Retlif New Hampshire moves to new Manchester facility with 4,000 sq. ft. of dedicated testing space.
  • Retlif services continue to expand within international telecommunications, EMP and ESD testing.

1987
  • Retlif service offerings expand to include FCC Part 68 telecommunications testing, electromagnetic pulse (EMP testing, and electrostatic discharge (ESD) testing.

1986
  • Ronkonkoma test facility doubles in size to 8,000 sq. ft. to accommodate continuing business expansion.
  • Retlif's New Hampshire branch is born. Dedicated test facility in Manchester is over 3,000 sq. ft.
  • MIL-STD-461C in effect, August 1986.

1985
  • Recognizing the need for international acceptance of test data, Retlif petitions National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) to develop first EMC laboratory accreditation program. Resulting program developed under NVLAP Department of NIST is cornerstone of numerous international trade agreements.
  • Retlif New York facility completed.
  • NVLAP develops EMC laboratory accreditation program.

1984
  • Ground broken on Retlif's 4,000 sq. ft. dedicated, state-of-the-art test facility, Ronkonkoma, N.Y.

1982
  • Long Island's first computer based EMC measurement system established by Retlif, at Flowerfield facility.

1981
  • Pioneering efforts in EMC continue.
  • Retlif becomes first EMC lab in American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL), bringing twelve other EMC labs with it.
  • Walter Poggi, Retlif President, begins ACIL services with first of multiple posts (Chairman, EMC Subcommittee, Eastern Division; Chairman, Government Relations Committee, etc.)

1980
  • Retlif gears up to meet the surge in EMI testing. Staff expansion brings additional engineering and expertise. Retlif opens dedicated field test site.
  • Defense industry expansion creates need for military EMC testing.
    Introduction of MIL-STD-461B, April 1980.

1979
  • Retlif doubles technical staff and space.

1978
  • Retlif Testing Laboratories is founded and established by Walter and Marilyn Poggi in St. James, New York. The new company chiefly provides EMC compliance testing to FCC parts 15 and 18. Retlif expands testing capabilities.
  • Broad FCC microprocessor regulations encompassing virtually all computing devices are enacted.
